Automated Routing

The Automated Routing feature in AlemHealth Admin is designed to automate the process of assigning studies to radiologists based on specific criteria like modality, urgency, and body part. This automation enhances workflow efficiency, ensuring studies are assigned to the right radiologist at the right time, based on your facility's unique needs.

Step 1: Access the Automated Routing Preferences Page

1. Log into AlemHealth Admin.
2. From the main dashboard, navigate to the Routing Preferences tab. This is where you can create and manage study routing rules for your facility.

Step 2: Create a New Route

1. Click the Create Route button.
2. A new window will appear, allowing you to configure a custom routing rule.

Step 3: Define Routing Criteria

1. In the routing window, you’ll need to specify criteria for the route:
   • Urgency (e.g., Routine, Urgent)
   • Modality (e.g., CT, MRI, X-ray)
   • Body Part (e.g., Chest, Abdomen)

Step 4: Select the Source Facility

1. Select the Source Facility from the drop-down menu. This step ensures that the routing rule applies only to the studies from the chosen facility.
   
   Note: If needed, search for the specific location in the facility list.

Step 5: Set Date or Recurring Schedule

1. Choose a Date Range or configure a Recurring Schedule for the routing rule.
2. The schedule can be set based on facility availability or special events that may impact study assignments.

Step 6: Assign Radiologists and Set Idle Times

1. Assign the appropriate radiologists to the routing rule. Selection can be based on:
   • Availability
   • Idle times
   • Specialization
2. Adjust working hours or idle times as needed to match the radiologists’ schedules.

Step 7: Name and Save the Route

1. Enter a Name and Description for the routing rule.
2. Click Submit to finalize and activate the route. The system will now automatically assign studies according to the rule you've set.

Step 8: Manage and Monitor Active Routes

1. Return to the Routing Preferences page to monitor all active routes.
2. From here, you can view, edit, or delete routing rules to adapt to changing facility needs.
