Overview
By default, studies can only be shared with patients after they have been reported. However, administrators can enable early sharing through the User Administration settings. This guide explains how to activate and manage this feature.
1. Enabling Study Sharing Before Reporting (Admin Only)
Steps:
- Go to User Administration:
- Log into the Admin Dashboard.
- Navigate to User Administration.
- Edit a Radiologist’s Settings:
- Locate the radiologist's profile.
- Click Edit User.
- Enable Study Sharing Before Reporting:
- Find the option "Allowed Study Sharing Before Reporting".
- Switch the toggle to "Yes".
- Click Save Changes.
✅ Once enabled, the radiologist will be able to share studies with patients before they are reported.
2. Sharing a Study with a Patient in Connect App
(For Radiologists)
Steps:

Open the Share Modal:
- Select a study from the Worklist.
- Click the "Share" button.

Access the Patient Tab:
- If sharing before reporting is enabled, the "Patient" tab will now be available.
- Select the Patient tab to share the study.

- Enter the patient’s contact details.
- Click Share to send the study.
Complete the Share Process:
3. What Happens if Sharing is Disabled?
- If Admin toggle is OFF, the "Patient" tab will remain disabled until the study is reported.
- If a radiologist tries to share with a patient while disabled, they will see a message: ❌ "Sharing with patients is only available after reporting."
4. Real-Time Updates
- Any change made by the Admin takes effect immediately.
- The Patient tab in the Share Modal will dynamically update without requiring a page refresh.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Solution |

The "Patient" tab is still disabled after enabling the toggle. | Refresh the page or check with the admin if the setting is correctly enabled. |
Radiologist is unable to share with a patient despite the setting being ON. | Ensure the study is selected and valid patient details are entered. |
