The viewer can show up to 16 viewports across up to six panels. This article covers how to pick the right layout for a study, swap viewports, and expand a viewport for detailed review.
Step 1: Choose a layout
Click Layout in the toolbar and pick from presets (1x1, 1x2, 2x2, 2x3, up to 4x4). Each viewport can hold an independent series, MPR view, or comparison study.
Step 2: Swap viewports
Drag one viewport header onto another to swap their contents. This is faster than reloading series when you want to compare, say, the left and right sagittal views of a knee.
Step 3: Expand a viewport
Double-click a viewport to expand it to the full panel. Double-click again to return to the grid. This is useful for detailed review without losing your overall layout.
Step 4: Use multiple panels
Open a second panel from the Panels menu for comparison or reporting. The panel toolbar gives quick access to hanging protocols, layout and comparison studies. Dock panels to the left or right to match your monitor setup.
Tips
- For radiologists with one large monitor, 2x3 often beats 3x2 for spine MR because axial slices benefit from wider aspect ratio.
- Panels remember their last layout per modality. Reopening a CT after a series of MRs restores your CT layout.
