The viewer lets you tune overlays, info labels, language, theme, and dialog behaviour to match your reading style. This article covers the most-used preferences.
Step 1: Toggle info labels
Click Info Labels in the toolbar to show or hide the viewport metadata overlay. Hidden labels are useful for clean screenshots; shown labels are standard for reading.
Step 2: Adjust overlays
In Settings > Overlay, choose which metadata to display per corner. Common defaults: top-left patient info, top-right institution and study description, bottom-left instance and slice position, bottom-right image dimensions and W/L.
Step 3: Change theme colour
The default accent colour is red, which is visible on both black and white monitors. Change to blue (the supported alternative) in Settings > Appearance. Deeper theming requires admin access to installation files.
Step 4: Change language
The viewer supports English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Lithuanian. Switch from Settings > Language. Additional languages can be requested via your AlemHealth account manager.
Step 5: Configure dialog windows
All dialog windows (Hanging Protocols, DICOM Tags, Export) can be resized, dragged, and minimized. This is useful on multi-monitor setups where you want the dialog on the left monitor while you read on the right.
Tips
- Hanging protocols can override info label and overlay preferences. If a protocol forces certain overlays, your session-level preference will not stick for that protocol.
- If the UI appears in the wrong language after an update, your browser language may have changed. Reset it in Settings > Language.
