You can use the AlemHealth Connect Uploader for Windows to upload studies from anywhere, quickly and conveniently. You can select and upload DICOM files, DICOMDIR CDs and DVDs, or send it studies from any DICOM device. These files will appear right on your https://connect.alem.health account.

This guide outlines the steps required to configure a device and set up DICOM for uploading and managing study files. Please follow the instructions below:
Here’s how it works:
- Download the file and double-click to start the installer. The installation will begin without any further options. If you don't haven't signed up for a free trial of AlemHealth Connect account yet, visit signup.alem.health to create an account first or click on "Create a new account".
1. Login to the System
- Enter your credentials (username and password) and click Login to access the system.
2. Select Facility
Next, you will see the welcome screen below and will be able to select the facility from which you're uploading studies. If you haven't created a facility yet, visit admin.alem.health/facilities to add facilities to your group first. Click "Verify" to sync the facility to your desktop.
- Once logged in, select the appropriate facility from the list provided.
- Confirm the selection by clicking Continue.
3. Optional: Select Device
- After selecting the facility, if you have an AlemHealth device installed, choose the device you wish to configure from the device list.
- If the device isn't listed, ensure it is connected and properly powered on.
- Once you've selected the device, your computer will be configured so that you can access the AlemBox or AlemHub device directly.
4. Set your Windows device as a DICOM Listener
- If you will also be using your laptop to receive studies from your imaging modalities, set your computer as a DICOM listener.
5. Set Local Storage Account
Next, you can select where you'd like to store your medical images on your hard drive. By default it stores the files in the same directory as the Uploader, but you can request that any files are saved to any folder or drive you have access to by clicking the "Browse" button. Click "Confirm" once you've selected the right folder.
- Navigate to the settings to specify the Storage/Output location or Working Directory where the study files will be uploaded.
- Ensure the directory has enough space and proper permissions.
6. Configure DICOM Listener (IP and Port)
- Input the appropriate IP address and port number for the DICOM listener.
Note: This configuration is crucial for ensuring communication between devices and the server.
7. Test DICOM Listener
- After configuring the listener, run a test to ensure the DICOM listener is functioning correctly.
Note: The system will provide a status update indicating whether the test was successful.
8. Check DICOM Listener Status
- Once the test is complete, verify that the DICOM listener status shows as complete or active.
- If the status shows an error, troubleshoot the connection or repeat the setup process.
Issue 1: If you're using an AlemHealth device but it is not connecting
- Ensure all cables are securely attached.
- Power cycle the device if necessary and wait for it to reconnect.
- The system will notify you once the device is successfully connected.
1. Report Any Errors
- If the device fails to connect, click on the Report Error option.
- Provide details about the issue, and submit the error report to the support team.
2. Submit the Report
- After submitting the error report, the system will confirm receipt.
- Follow any further instructions provided by the support team if needed.
3. If Device Fails to Register
- If the device does not get registered after connection, check the network and hardware configurations.
- Retry the registration process or report the issue if it persists.
Issue 2: Failed to Send DICOM files to Target Error
You are missing the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime. You can download these directly from Microsoft at https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe to download and install the files.
