Print Settings is where you set the baseline layout every report starts from: letterhead, margins, QR code, study information, and disclaimer. Set it up once and it applies to every report printed or downloaded for that group or facility.
Step 1: Open Print Settings
In the admin sidebar, click Print Settings. You can also click Edit Letterhead in Admin from Print Preview. The Print Output Configuration page opens, with a Live Document Preview on the right that updates as you make changes. Use the + and - buttons to zoom the preview.
Step 2: Choose a group or facility
Under Select Group or Facility, choose what the settings apply to. Select Entire Group to set the baseline template for every facility in your group. Select Specific Facility to create or use a custom letterhead for one facility, for example when facilities have different addresses or logos, then pick the facility you want to configure.
Step 3: Choose the letterhead format
Under Letterhead Format, select Custom Letterhead to use your own letterhead file, or Default Letterhead to use the standard AlemHealth letterhead.
Step 4: Upload your letterhead
Under Margin Alignment, click Change Letterhead and select your file. Supported formats are PNG, JPG, JPEG, SVG, and PDF. To remove the current letterhead, click Remove Letterhead.
Step 5: Set the header and footer margins
Set the Top Header Margin and Bottom Footer Margin in centimetres, either by typing a value or dragging the slider. These define how much space your letterhead header and footer take up. Check the Live Document Preview to make sure the study information and report text start below the header and end above the footer.
Step 6: Choose whether PDF downloads include the letterhead
Turn on Include Letterhead in PDF Downloads to include the letterhead in every downloaded report. Turn it off to leave the header and footer areas blank, so downloaded reports can be printed onto pre-printed stationery.
Step 7: Set the Patient Portal QR code defaults
Under Patient Portal QR Code, turn on Include QR by default if reports should start with a QR code that links patients to their images. Choose the Placement (Page Footer or End of Report) and the QR size (Small, Medium, or Large). Users can still turn the QR code off for an individual print or download.
Step 8: Customize the study information
The Study Information Template controls the patient and study details block at the top of each report. Set the number of Rows. Each row has two cells, and each cell has a Label and a Value.
Click a label to rename it, for example changing PatientName to Patient Name. To set a value, drag a field from Available Fields into the cell. Available fields include Patient Name, Patient ID, Age / DOB, Accession, Study Type, Referring Doctor, Reported Date, Facility Name, and Procedure. Fields already in use appear greyed out. To remove a value, click the x next to it. To go back to the original layout, click Reset Default.
Step 9: Add a legal disclaimer
If your reports carry a disclaimer, turn on Show disclaimer under Legal Disclaimer, then enter the text you want to appear at the bottom of your reports.
Step 10: Save your configuration
Click Save Output Configuration at the top right of the page. Every report printed or downloaded for this group or facility will now use these settings.
Tips
Margins use different units. Print Settings shows margins in centimetres, while Print Preview shows them in inches. The values are the same: a 5.0 cm top header margin in Admin appears as 1.97 inches in Print Preview.
Printing on pre-printed stationery. Upload a scan of your stationery as the letterhead so you can line up the margins in the Live Document Preview. Then turn off Include Letterhead in PDF Downloads, or select Pre-printed Paper in Print Preview, so the letterhead area prints blank.
Facility letterheads. If your facilities have different logos or addresses, set up the group baseline first, then switch to Specific Facility and adjust only what differs.
One-off changes. Use Print Preview to adjust a single report. To change the layout everyone starts from, update Print Settings instead.
Can't see Print Settings? Print Settings is available to group admins. If it does not appear in your sidebar, ask your group admin to make the change or update your role.
